The tourist who wants a resort town without the history may take a day trip to nearby Cavtat, where the restaurants and shops dominate. Cavtat also has an urban beach (concrete) with still water for the hot Mediterranean summer days. The Račič family chapel is worth seeing. It was designed by the world famous Dalmatian sculptor, Ivan Meštrović. It is in the hill-top cemetery, at the end of path coming from the Franciscan Monastery.
